Starting the morning of Sept. 22, David Blaine will be hanging upsisde down from a wire, with the help of electromagnetic boots, for 60 hours over Central Park's Wollman Skating Rink in NYC. He'll only pull himself up for liquids and to restore circulation.

The Street Magic performer recently spoke to reporters about his daunting task, which is being broadcast in a special on ABC on Sept. 24, along with real estate mogul Donald Trump, who owns Wollman Skating Rink.

But is he ready?

"Although it is very dangerous, I don’t just jump up here and say I’m going to suddenly see what happens," says David. "I’ve actually practiced it, but I’ve only gotten up to six hours. Six hours against 60 hours is a lot different."

Donald says he's definitely in David's corner, and believes he can accomplish his task.

"I have learned from David. You would really think that some of the things he’s done are not physically or mentally possible," says Donald. "You can do things in your own mind that you don’t think you can do."

As for how David is preparing for his bat-like challenge, he's gone to the extreme once again.

"I stopped eating about a week ago, so I dropped about twenty pounds, which makes it easier on the body, and I don’t have to go to the bathroom number two," he confesses. As for all the liquids he'll be drinking, David says he'll use a catheter.

To speak to that most obvious of questions, "why?" David's answer is simple.

"The point of all these things is I think we can endure much more than we think we can. Like, I think we can take everything – we can turn our world upside down, but we can still endure because human beings are amazing," he says.

The Donald agrees, saying, "That’s in business, too, because look at what we’re going through in terms of the world. People tend to endure a lot more than they think they can, and this is a great example of that."

And if you still need a reason to watch David's stunt, look no farther than the ticket price.

"It’s free, and there aren’t too many things in life that are free especially nowadays," says Donald.
