Being the child of iconic Punky Brewster star Soleil Moon Frye has its perks. Daughter Poet entertained her parents' pals Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher during her sixth birthday bash August 24!

“They came over to surprise us for Poet’s birthday, and I can’t even begin to express – they are such incredible friends,” the married mom, 35, tells me during her Happy Chaos book launch party presented by Divalysscious Moms at Azure in NYC this week.

She continues, “Demi hosted my book party that Target sponsored, which was incredible, and we had so much fun. Her words are so beautiful, and they’re such an inspiration in my life every day.  They’re so giving of themselves. They’ve given me so much advice and insight, and they are so special to me. They’re part of my life in every way, and they inspire me in all ways.”

What’s the best parenting tip parents-of-three Demi and Ashton have given her?

“To be kind to others,” she explains. “They’re the kindest people I know.”

For Soleil, mixing family time with business can cause drama.

“The book is out now, and it was Poet’s sixth birthday,” she says. “I was like ‘oh, I don’t know what to do!’ because it was at the same time. I did lots of soul searching, and we turned it into a big family affair, and we found great deals, and we brought my brother, my nieces, my sister in law and the whole family came. We turned this crazy chaos into happy chaos. We celebrated her birthday, and we had all these surprises, and literally she said it was the best birthday she’d ever had. Sometimes things, no matter how unexpected they are, can turn into magical moments.”

Soleil has found what works when it comes to managing parental stress.

“I try to remember to breathe and have a sense of humor.”

Still, that doesn’t mean it’s always smooth sailing.

“When both daughters had a meltdown after all the candy and sugar and excitement of the day, they were like ‘ahhh!’ They were both melting down in Central Park, and I was like ‘OK, I think it’s time to go home now. We’ve had so much fun – we’ve been on fun overload.’ laughs”

That’s what happens when Ashton shows up to your birthday party, right?

Here’s my pic with Soleil:

Poet, sister Jagger, 3, and dad Jason Goldberg got a treat when Soleil brought home a Crumbs Colossal Crumb for them to enjoy post-event. Talk about a sugar high!
