NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams is gearing up for a big week. The popular primetime newscast will feature the charitable involvement of Sally Field, Ben Affleck, Eva Longoria Parker, Usher and Will Ferrell each night this week, starting today!

For each episode, the show will feature each actor or artist discussing their personal commitment to philanthropy as part of the broadcast’s “Making a Difference” — a regular feature on Nightly News that profiles ordinary people doing extraordinary things to help their neighbors.

Throughout the special week, one-on-one interviews with each celebrity will combined with visits to some of the people whose lives they have touched.

Tonight’s segment features anchor and managing editor Brian Williams spending some time with Sally Field and her cause, Vital Voices — a non-profit organization that fosters women’s rights identifies, trains, and empowers emerging women leaders and social entrepreneurs around the globe.

Eva Longoria Parker sits down with Norah O’Donnell for Tuesday’s segment and discusses the organization she established, Eva’s Heroes, with the main goal to enrich the lives of young people with developmental challenges.

In the piece, Eva explains she was, “extremely fortunate to grow up with a sister who is intellectually disabled,” and has been deeply involved in every aspect of disability education her entire life.

Ann Curry interviews Ben Affleck for Wednesday’s edition.

Ben recently founded the Eastern Congo Initiative, which “advocates for economic and social development in the Congo through public awareness, public policy changes and funding for the Congolese communities.”

Usher talks with Luke Russert for Thursday’s segment about his New Look leadership program supporting young people as they use their creativity and talents to become global corporate and community leaders.

Luke talks with the Grammy-winning artist, and also some young people whose lives have transformed thanks to Usher’s foundation.

OK! NEWS: USHER’S NEW LOOK ORGANIZATION BRINGS FRESH PERSPECTIVE TO PROVIDING HAITI RELIEF

On Friday, Lee Cowan interviews comedian Will Ferrell about a cause dear to his heart, Cancer for College.

Will has always stayed in touch with his USC frat buddy Craig Pollard, who suffered two bouts of cancer even before graduating college. Pollard started the charity called Cancer for College to provide scholarships to kids with cancer, stemming from his own experience and his parents’ difficulty to afford the medical expenses.

His first contributor was Will, who’s been involved ever since, raising funds and awareness.
