‘s Brittany Snow
gushed over co-star Zac Efron
’s teen idol status at the 1920s Gatsby-inspired Erin Fetherston
show. “I wasn’t surprised. I always knew he was going to be over the top," Brittany told OK
!. "It’s funny, though, because I see him everywhere now and he and I got very close over Hairspray
. And he’s like my little brother. It’s just strange seeing a generally nice, well-rounded kid get so big. And how rare it is that he hasn’t let it go to his head. And I love him for that.”
•At the Zang Toi
charity show (think super-soft, feminine, Asian-inspired clothes) for the Lance Armstrong
Foundation, we ran into Patti LaBelle
who, when she’s not supporting cancer charities and proclaiming her love for OK
!, is busy at work on her many various projects: “I just did something with Boyz II Men
, they’re doing a Motown covers album coming out. I recorded my Christmas album. I also did a cooking DVD and my new hot sauce line with pots and pans and aprons. I’m working on a regular Patti La Belle album next year.”
•At the Tommy Hilfiger party for his book Iconic America, whose proceedes will go to UNICEF, held at the MOMA, performer Debbie Harry of Blondie was excited to talk about her new album, Necessary Evil. She told OK!: “It’s a bunch of rock songs. It’s mostly songs about love, oddly enough. I have a great appreciation of it and all the forms that it takes and I felt like it’s such an important thing in all of our lives especially when we’re dealing with radical theology.”
Meanwhile, the man of the evening, Mr. Hilfiger himself, who is showing his 50’s inspired collection next week, opened up to OK! about his place in pop culture history. “Tommy Hilfiger’s inspiration from the very, very beginning has always been about embracing iconic America. From places like Nantucket to Malibu to Florida to Texas. If you think about it, America embodies a richness and spirit and diversity that no other country embodies,” he said.
