Ellen DeGeneres and actor-musician Harry Connick Jr. are both from New Orleans, and Saturday they returned to their hometown to mark the graduation of Tulane University's "Katrina Class," students displaced by the hurricane in 2005, reports the AP.

"Look at you," Ellen told the 2,000 or so graduates at  the Louisiana Superdome. "Usually when you're wearing a robe at 10 in the morning it means you've given up."
