Hollywood stars are certainly trailblazers, sparking the hottest trends. So what's the latest Hollywood fad? Taking to the stage! There seems to be an increase in the number of A-listers expanding their careers to the NYC and London theaters, exercising their acting chops away from the camera. CURRENT: Scarlett Johansson and Liev Schreiber are currently taking Broadway by storm in Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge.

The performances by Scarlett, Liev and Jessica Hecht have received rave reviews.

MORE ON:
Kym Johnson

“Ms. Johansson melts into her character so thoroughly that her nimbus of celebrity disappears. Her Catherine is a girl on the cusp of womanhood, feeling her way down familiar paths that have suddenly been shrouded in unfamiliar shadows,” Ben Brantley of The New York Times stated in his review, praising Scarlett’s debut performance.

He felt similarly about Liev, who is no stranger to the Broadway stage.

“Mr. Schreiber is such a complete actor that he has often thrown productions into imbalance, highlighting the inadequacy of the performances around him.”

FUTURE: Justin Bartha goes from the Hangover to Broadway. Justin will appear in the Stanley Tucci-directed revival of Lend Me Tender starting in March.

Abigail Breslin also has a Broadway show on the horizon. The 13-year-old will be tackling one of the most inspiring historical figures: Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker. Abigail stars alongside Alison Pill, Jennifer Morrison and Matthew Modine in the play scheduled to open March 3, with previews beginning Feb. 12!
