With Anthony Weiner's scandal raging, his chances of becoming NYC mayor post-Mike Bloomberg aren't looking too good, leaving the position wide open for a fresh face. Jennifer Garner stopped by Fox & Friends yesterday to talk family, career and politics! And the mom of two has a great suggestion for Bloomberg's replacement — actor Alec Baldwin

Jen was put on the spot yesterday on Fox & Friends when asked about her thoughts on the 30 Rock star running for office.

“I think he would give us all a run for his money," the actress said with a laugh. "He’s awesome, I love Alec. It hasn’t stopped anyone before, I think he should go for it. He could run and let people vote!”

And even though she may have been laughing through her supportive words for Alec, Jen isn't joking.

When asked if she endorses him, Jen responded: "Yes, I stand up for Alec Baldwin!"

So how about hubby Ben Affleck?

“Yes, Ben stands up for Alec Baldwin, too," Jen assured.

As to whether or not the Emmy winner will run for mayor after Mayor Bloomberg’s term expires in 2013, Alec’s spokesperson stated earlier this week, “I wouldn’t rule it out.” According to the Wall Street Journal, someone familiar with the situation said it’s “a real possibility.”
