For the first time since the hearings in his custody battle with ex-wife began, appeared in court today to give sworn testimony.

At 1:46 p.m. PST, L.A. County Commissioner Scott M. Gordon swore in

Kevin, who was dressed in a snappy blue suit, white dress shirt, with a black

eyepatch over his right eye (!!??), black sunglasses, black leather shoes and

close-cropped hair.

Raising his right hand before the judge and

hushed courtroom, Kevin — when asked if he promised to testify

truthfully — said, "I do."

It was a far cry from his wedding ceremony with Britney, when he'd said those same words.

Moments later, his attorney, , told the

judge he'd like to make a motion to have the courtroom closed for

Kevin's testimony.

Gordon ordered the courtroom closed, at 1:47 p.m. PST.

Two

hours into Kevin's testimony, at 3:47 p.m. PST, L.A. Superior Court PIO

Alan Perichini opened the door to the closed courtroom, dept. 88, stuck

his head out and told reporters: "Get yourselves comfortable. We're

going to be here a while."

The courthouse officially closes at 4:30 p.m. PST daily. In some

circumstances, a judge can continue a hearing until 6 p.m. or later.

Britney had been spending the afternoon at her home in Malibu until

she had her bodyguard drive her to a Ralph's supermarket! (Girl's gotta

shop, y'all!) but OK! has just heard that she may be making her way to the courthouse at this moment.

Stay tuned!
