As Dancing With the Stars heads into next week’s finale, the vivacious Kirstie Alley is keeping her eye on the prize. And by that we mean the mirror ball trophy. In fact, she even compared competing in the finals to being nominated for an Emmy Award!
Last night after Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff’s elimination, Kirstie told reporters winning would be the ultimate prize. “I think it’s going to be like winning an Oscar. Because it’s something I haven’t won before, it’s something I’ve always really wanted. It’s a different category, but I feel like we were just nominated!”
For starters, it’s like being nominated for discipline which Kirstie said she “never had in my life.” Thanks to the show she has a new appreciation for professional dancers. “I had no idea what their life was like. None. You only see a performance and you go, wow that was good. So I was kind of an airhead about it, I didn’t really realize how many years goes into it and what that life is like.”
So, what would life be like for Kirstie if she is declared the first place winner next week? She told OK!, “I’ll probably go to Italy or Paris or something. Something exotic where they know nothing of mirror balls.”
