People can't seem to get enough of the Kennedy clan, and now Lana Del Rey is acting out her own version on the JFK tragedy for her "National Anthem" video.
The video opens with Lana singing "Happy Birthday" in an obvious tribute to Marilyn Monroe (save for the blonde hair). Soon we're rocketed to a Cape Cod-looking landscape with Lana in Jackie Kennedy attire and A$AP Rocky as — who else — a hip-hop John F. Kennedy.
Who knew JFK wore bling, played craps and drank courvoisier?
Lana alternates from a picnic with her husband and their adorable brood to lounging on bearskin rug and giving the camera sultry and serious looks, to a birthday party bash for one of her children. As you can probably guess, the video ends on a sunny day, in a convertible during a parade.
She told MTV News, “Every so often, I top what I’ve done, and this video is definitely the most beautiful thing I’ve ever done."
Do you agree? What do you think of Lana del Rey's 'National Anthem'?
