Nearly three years after that explosive Today interview when Tom Cruise called Matt Lauer "glib," the two will once more get together for an on-air chat on Dec. 15.

In June of 2005 Tom got a little bit feisty with Matt after a line of questioning involving Scientology's anti-psychiatry stance, saying at one point, "No, you see. Here's the problem. You don't know the history of psychiatry. I do."

Tom will be promoting his latest project, the WWII film Valkyrie, which centers around a plot to assassinate Hitler, as well as his wife Katie Holmes, kids Isabella, Connor and Suri and their life together.

Although things were tense during that first interview, the guys seem to have made up, with Tom appearing at the to tease Matt in October.

"Believe it or not, Matt and I are friends," Tom told the audience. "Which some of you may find surprising because we had that, uh... you know."

Such good friends, in fact, that they keep in touch often, joked Tom.
