Michael Crichton Passes Away

Michael Crichton, popular author of sci-fi fantasy books like Jurassic Park, died in L.A. on Tuesday at the age of 66 after a private battle with cancer, according to the Associated Press.
"Through his books, Michael Crichton served as an inspiration to students of all ages, challenged scientists in many fields, and illuminated the mysteries of the world in a way we could all understand," said a statement from his family.

When the book Jurassic Park was published in 1990 it topped bestseller lists before being turned into the blockbuster movie of the same name in 1993.
