Michael J. Fox Is a Man With a Mission

For seven years, Michael J. Fox and his wife, Tracy Pollan, have been getting the word about fighting Parkinson's disease through the Michael J. Fox Foundation, and on Dec. 1, the pair played host at the foundation's benefit gala, "A Groovy Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson's."

"It's a treat to see friends and people I haven’t seen in a while,” Michael explained to OK! at the event. “It's going to be a good night.” With the help from host Stephen Colbert, performers John Mayer, Gavin DeGraw and special guests Rachael Ray, Katrina Bowden and Donny Deutsch, those in attendance were sure to groove.

As for Michael, who actively fights to find a cure for the degenerative disease that he also deals with daily, he told OK!, “It’s not just finding the answer; it’s finding the questions.”

Since its inception in 2000, the Michael J. Fox Foundation has raised close to $100 million in research to combat Parksinson’s — and the funds are still growing. This father of four adds, “The challenge is just getting as much done as I want to get done.”
