"She's not looking at the fact she's going to have a baby soon," Lemhele explains, as her daughter looks blankly off to the side. "This whole thing isn't registering yet.

"She's going to become a mom—and she has to experience stuff herself because there's not much I can do for her."

"It's OK, she can cry," she says. "She's feeling. Look I know you don't want to be here, you don't want any of this to be happening and I understand that—it feels like it's too much to think about, right?

The therapist's words seem to help mom just as much as Saniyah.

"Saniyah does not know what's going on or what's in store or what's ahead for her," Lemhele says. "I feel so bad looking at her because she's so inexperienced, but I'm her mom so I have to try to be the best that I can and support her and tell her whatever it is today and all you feel today…. it's going to get better, because at the end of the day there's a human being in there and all kids are a blessing, so it's going to be OK."
