NEWSNick & Vanessa: New Year's Ring?

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo lip-locked their way through the New Year at LIV nightclub in the Fontainebleu Miami Beach Hotel, snuggling and dancing until the wee hours.
"Nick got a kiss almost every hour--it was adorable," an observer reports. Despite rumors of an imminent split, Nick, 35, and Vanessa, 28, are going strong. A friend tells OK!, "They are ringing in 2009 closer than ever." So will this year will be the year that Nick pops the question to his lady love?
In the meantime, the new year is especially significant for Lachey, who recently joined the MTV team as host of an as yet untitled project, set to follow Ohio theater enthusiasts in their quest to make it.
