Hugh Jackman certainly knows how to keep the romance alive with wife Deborra-Lee Furness, who is 13 years his senior.
During a press luncheon held this week at NYC’s Four Seasons Hotel, the Aussie actor, 44, serenades her with The Way You Look Tonight.
“It sounds weird, but when you’re doing a press tour like this, getting any time with your wife is rare,” he explains that evening during the Museum of the Moving Image Salutes Hugh Jackman event held at NYC’s Cipriani Wall Street.
“I said ‘babe, can you come to lunch? Just come to lunch?’ I didn’t know we were going to sing, but I figured if she was seated next to me, at least we might get five minutes to chat, because it’s been a little crazy. Then, I looked down and said ‘I’m going to do it.’”
What was her reaction?
“I scored some brownie points,” he says.
The couple wed in 1996 after starring in Aussie crime drama Correlli. They are parents to adopted children Oscar, 12, and Ava, 7.
Catch Hugh in Les Miserables, which hits theaters Dec. 25. The musical is up for four Golden Globe awards.
