Kim Kardashian has been everything but matronly as her bump continues to grow.
The 32-year-old reality star, who is expecting her first child with Kanye West, has taken many risks in the fashion department, ranging from ruffles to fringe to cutouts to sheer to lace to menswear.
“It’s not like ‘oh, I’m dressing pregnant now,’” stylist Phillip Bloch, who has dressed Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry, Drew Barrymore, Mariah Carey, Salma Hayek, Nicole Kidman and more, tells me.

“It’s still dressing sexy. I get it, but it’s not how I would do her. I would do her more sexy and more Mother Earth, if anything. More maternal. There’s way to be sexy, voluptuous and chic—it doesn’t have to be cutouts!”
Still, he sees what she’s striving to do.
“I applaud her for supporting a trend,” he says with a laugh. “Taking a trend to voice raises another level. She’s showing you you can still be pregnant and wear trends. People in the industry try to give you a look. Her look is ‘I’m going to show that you can be sexy, and be pregnant.’ But we had Amber Rose for that. Beyonce didn’t do that.”
Hm, what should she wear?
“There’s a lot of curves to start with, so when you add extra curves—stretchy,” he says. “I like that she’s showing it, because she’s curvaceous, and I’ve never been one to hide pregnancies. A nice empire waist is chic. It would nice to see her wear something drapey and empire a little more, especially as we get along.”
He continues, “I like the fitted—that’s what she seems to do a lot of still even, which is interesting. It doesn’t feel like her style has changed a lot.”
