Top Chef favorite Fabio Viviani is dishing up a hot Valentine’s Day.

During the Quaker Oats Epic Hot Breakfast video shoot in L.A., the Fabio’s Italian Kitchen author lists his top five tips for a romantic Valentine’s Day.

OK! GALLERY: VALENTINE’S DAY GIFT GUIDE

1. Never underestimate the power of breakfast.

“Begin the day with wholesome breakfast in bed,” he tells me. “Foods like fruit, yogurt and Quaker Oats will give you the healthy fuel you need to get you going.”

2. Don’t rely on the stores to do all the work.

“Anyone can buy strawberries, chocolate and whip cream – that’s so 80s,” he says. “Cook him or her dinner.”

3. Consider your significant other’s desires.

“For once, do something your partner wants to do,” he says. “Does she like window shopping? Does she like to go for a long walk on the beach? Does he like back rubs? Make his or her dream come true today!”

4. Cook together.

“Make risotto and drink red wine together. Have the lady stir and the gentleman can help.”

5. It’s all about the woman.

“Valentine’s Day is about her. Let her be right today — and every day!”

Hm, what are his tips for singles on this day of love?

“Stay at home,” he says. “Cook for yourself, drink wine and rent a movie — but not a sappy one. Or have your girlfriends over for girl’s night in.”

Fabio is teaming up with Quaker Oats during American Heart Month to energize and inspire women to help take care of their hearts by doing something as simple as eating right. Fabio will star in Quaker's Epic Hot Breakfast Video in support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement. The video invites women to start their day with a hot heart-healthy breakfast and reminds them there are little things you can do each day, such as choosing whole grain Quaker Oats, to provide healthy fuel to help get you going.
