Take this one with a grain of salt (or a whole handful): A new report by U.K. newspaper Telegraph is claiming that Katie Holmes beat out Kate Winslet for the lead in the musical stage version of Finding Neverland.
Kate starred in the 2004 flick, alongside Johnny Depp, playing Sylvia Llewelyn Davies, whose relationship with playwright J.M. Barrie, along with her sons, may have inspired Peter Pan.
The paper says Katie has been participating in a workshop to prepare for the musical, and will star alongside Christian Borle in the show's Broadway run later this year.

According to Kate's spokesman, as quoted by the paper, it's not for lack of singing talent that the Revolutionary Road actress doesn't have the part.
"In fact, she can sing. She sang in the film Romance & Cigarettes," the paper reports the spokesman as saying.
