As some fans may have noticed, Rihanna's ads promoting a new mascara for CoverGirl might be colored slightly by her recent public fight with Chris Brown, which resulted in the singer being battered and bruised.

And now CoverGirl's competitor, Revlon, is running a survey with Harris Interactive to find out if the recent controversy is affecting Rihanna's image as a spokesperson, TMZ reports.

The site says the online survey shows the commercial in question, and then asks people "if they are aware of the person in the commercial (without saying Rihanna's name), if they've heard about her in the news lately, if they have an opinion about the person and if they feel the person is "an appropriate spokesperson' for the product."

What that breaks down to is Revlon wants to know if women are upset with Rihanna for reuniting with Chris, and would be less inclined to buy CoverGirl makeup.
