Sharon Stone Changes The World

Sharon Stone, 50, has her hands full as a single mom to adopted sons in Roan, 7, Laird, 2, and Quinn, 1.

Still, she takes time to give back through amFAr, and demands that her inner circle do the same.

“My sister and I made a decision – it’s been a few years ago now – we said ‘I just don’t want to be friends with anybody anymore who doesn’t give of themselves,’” she tells me. “My mom said ‘you can’t do that!’ and we said ‘ you know what, we can.’ She said ‘but everybody you know has other jobs’ and I said ‘yeah?’ and she said ‘you can’t make them do things’ and I said ‘no, we can’t but we also don’t have to hang out with people who aren’t socially conscious.’”

She adds, “We’re busy, and it’s not OK to say ‘I don’t have time.’ We don’t have time either. It just so turned out that the people who we love in our lives have stepped up and are participating, giving and trying. It seems like the world can change.”
