Simon Cowell ignited a large relief effort among the music industry to unite for Haiti. He enlisted the help of a plethora of pop stars to cover the song “Everybody Hurts” by R.E.M. Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Rod Stewart, Jon Bon Jovi, Michael Bublé, Susan Boyle, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis, Mika and James Blunt, were among the stars who recorded the track. Even comedian Vince Vaughn joined the effort.

Many recording artists gathered last night to record “We Are the World” in L.A, while Simon was finishing London-based charity single, “Everybody Hurts,” released to British radio this morning, E! News reports.
