Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles isn’t shy about how she’ll suck in post-holiday poundage to slip into a sexy New Year’s frock.

Spanx hides all your bumps,” she tells me. “ I’ve got a Spanx on this uterus. They work, and they do what they’re supposed to do. Sometimes they’re a little uncomfortable, but that’s the price of beauty. It’s better than a corset. No boning.”

Miranda Lambert swears by Nicole Miller designs.

“They fit normal-sized girls, and they fit girls with curves,” she tells me. “She always makes designs that are great for fuller figures, so I’m always drawn to her.”

Comfort is key for party dressing.

“Comfortable, with comfortable shoes, but looks really cute,” Gina Gershon tells me. “I like to be comfortable, and I like to look cute at the same time.”

Reba McEntire agrees.

“If you’re not comfortable, you’re not going to have a good time,” she tells me. “The thing that makes me the most nervous is a new outfit or new shoes. That’s why I’ve worn these boots since 2001. I’ve had them resoled probably ten times. I’m getting to the point in my life where I like to be comfortable and I like security.”

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jacqueline Laurita was once a makeup artist. She shares a few tips.

“Use an eye shadow base,” she says. “It helps your eye shadow stay on longer, it makes it more vibrant and prevents it from creasing. I like highlighter pens under the eyes and under the eyebrows. Bronzer’s good. Eyebrow liner.”

Her co-star Caroline Manzo offers tips for those ready to party like its 2009.

“Just respect your host or hostess, respect the evening, drive safely, don’t drink too much. If you’re the host or hostess, just go with it, have fun and let the evening take care of itself and enjoy your company.”

But don't feel left out if a party isn't part of your repertoire. Rosie O’Donnell isn’t planning a big bash.

“I don’t ever throw parties,” she says. “I’m not really a party thrower. I’m very boring and nerdy.”
