There won’t be any stars out at this year’s Golden Globe Awards. At least that’s the word according to Screen Actors Guild President Alan Rosenberg who issued a statement yesterday saying: “There appears to be unanimous agreement that these actors will not cross WGA picket lines to appear on the Golden Globe Awards as acceptors or presenters. We applaud our members for this remarkable show of solidarity for striking Writers Guild of America writers."

Dick Clark Productions, the independent production company that produces the Golden Globes, said late Friday it has tried for weeks to strike an interim deal with the WGA, which would enable the actors to feel more comfortable about attending the show. The Guild, however, is refusing to budge.

This year’s nominated actors include Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley, George Clooney and Denzel Washington. In the meantime, NBC maintains the show will go on. But, with no star power, will anyone watch? The president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is set to make a statement regarding the Jan. 13th telecast on Monday.
