Nick-Verreos

On Lifetime's Under the Gunn, Nick Verreos mentors designers to produce some seriously beautiful creations, so it's only natural the fashion guru would be just the person to ask to make predictions on who should wear what at this year's Academy Awards. Fresh from New York Fashion Week, Nick offers up his advice to Hollywood's leading ladies—see if you agree!

Amy Adams

In American Hustle Amy exudes a sex-a-licious vibe in those fabulous vintage Halston jersey dresses. Reviewing her most recent red carpet appearances, I can see that possibly she might have been "influenced" by her American Hustle character. Case in point: hHr plunging neckline Valentino gown she wore at the 2014 Golden Globes. Amy normally loves strong colors and fitted shapes. With that in mind, I'd love to see her in something not so fitted and more "Euro Royalty" looking. One of my favorite gowns from this most recent Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week was this lace gown with open back and bat-wing like sleeves. I think this would be stunning on Amy.

Cate Blanchett

The Blue Jasmine star is a fashion nuse—with her perfect model stature, lean figure and almost regal demeanor. Although Cate is known to be a loya Armani fan and wore one of his creations beautifully at the 2014 Golden Globes, she has worn different designers lately. Of note, she looked fabulous in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards. For the Academy Awards, I think she will go back to Armani and specifically Armani Prive Spring 2014. The designer's collection showed lots of strapless ball gowns that Blanchett would easily wear and look marvelous in (sans the couture sequined "shower cap" of course!).

Sandra Bullock

Gravity actress Sandra Bullock has been looking quite chic and sexy on the red carpet as of late. I really liked the Lanvin strapless gown showing a lot of leg which she wore at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards and a sexy column gown from French designer Roland Mouret at the 2014 Directors Guild Awards. My suggestion for the gorgeous Sandra is a gown from Giambattista Valli and his Spring 2014 Haute Couture collection. This is a gorgeous strapless ball gown in ivory silk with hand-sewn royal blue sequin appliqués—and more importantly, it also has a slit to show Bullock's wonderfully toned legs; it is entrance-making and on-trend in terms of the fuller ball gown shape.

Lupita Nyong'o

12 Years A Slave actress Lupita Nyong'o is the newest red carpet fashion darling. Lupita exudes exotic elegance in everything she wears. Lupita loves bright color when it comes to her fashion taste. But for the biggest red carpet fashion night of the season, I think that she will make an entrance worthy of an Empress and this Elie Saab Haute Couture Spring 2014 floral ball gown fits the bill!

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence just renewed her contract as the Dior spokesperson and she has been a perfect Dior "fashion soldier", wearing designs from the famed French fashion house. So, it would not be a far red carpet stretch to predict that Jennifer would be wearing Dior for the Academy awards. My suggestion is from Raf Simons Fall 2013 Haute Couture collection for Christian Dior—a strapless black (with back straps) gown with Obi-like folds. It's modern, directional, extremely chic and will have the fashionistas raving.

Julia Roberts

The eternally beautiful and iconic Pretty Woman is another devotee of fashion designer Giorgio Armani so it would not surprise me if she wore something from his Haute Couture Armani Prive collections. In the event she would not go for Armani, I would love to see her in a design from my NIKOLAKI high-end line of gowns and specifically this black, champagne and raspberry colored silk ziberline gown with pleated top section and plunging v-neckline. Oh, and best of all, there are side pockets as well.
