Angelina Jolie and her brother James Haven have put together a heartfelt video tribute to their mother Marcheline Bertrand, who died from ovarian cancer three years ago, aged 56.

E! News claims Angelina and James — who are Marcheline's children with her ex-husband, Midnight Cowboy star Jon Voight — created the moving film with old home movies shot on a family trip to Hawaii in 1981.

"One place Marcheline loved was Hawaii," reads a message at the beginning of the video. "She made many happy memories for her family there."

There are then images of Marcheline, James and a barely six-year-old Angelina on the beach, learning how to hula, playing in their hotel room and enjoying other island pastimes

Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow (which became famous as the soundtrack to Dr Mark Greene's tear-jerking death in season eight of ER) plays in the background.
