Right after the VMAs on Sunday, Lady Gaga made her way to meet up with Ellen DeGeneres dressed as a piece of meat — but she can explain why.
For the cover of Japanese Vogue, Lady Gaga wore a bikini made out of meat and PETA was not pleased. But, the singer is still rocking the look and even wore a meat dress to the VMAs.
“What is the purpose of the meat?” Ellen asked Gaga during her taping for the Season 8 premiere of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgment free human being on the earth,” Gaga explained. “However, it has many interpretations but for me this evening if we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones. And, I am not a piece of meat.”
To please PETA, Ellen gave Gaga a bikini and skirt made out of vegetables to wear instead.
