Casey Abrams tackled Marvin Gaye‘s “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” in last night’s Motown song competition on American Idol. But what really stood out aside from Casey’s voice was his new slicked back hairstyle and girl…friend in the audience, Megan.

Casey sported some serious hair gel last night and sang to his females fans while trying to tone down his “screechy” voice this week. What do you think of Casey’s new look?

“I think you’re the perfect entertainment. Perfect pitch and perfect mix of crazy a** out of control ego,” Steven Tyler said after Casey’s performance. “And that’s what makes an artist today. You’re beautiful, man, and I love you.”

“You’re so specific who you are,” Jennifer Lopez said. “Is there anybody like you right there? I don’t even think there is. You might be the guy right now. You can really carve out a niche for yourself and be amazing.”

“You are definitely a true original,” Randy Jackson added. “You know what’s so perfect about you, you can only do you and that you is great and we love it.”

Ryan Seacrest then confronted Casey on who the girl was that he was singing to during his performance.

“She’s one of my friends,” Casey explained. “Megan.”
