Ryan Murphy may be a tough critic on his Oxygen show The Glee Project, but when it came to picking a winner it apparently wasn’t so easy for him.

The Glee Project contestants spent nine weeks trying to keep getting “called back” to Ryan’s show, and it all came down to last night’s finale.

The winner would receive a guest role on seven episodes of Glee, but Ryan decided to change the rules at the last minute.

***WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW!***

The creator of Glee tricked the contestants by declaring Samuel Larsen, 19, the winner first, then announcing Damien McGinty, 18, the winner too!

Both Samuel and Damien will appear in seven episodes of Glee in the next season, Entertainment Weekly reports.

But Ryan didn’t stop there. Third and fourth place contestants Alex Newell, 18, and Lindsay Pearce, 20, were told they’d appear in two episodes of Glee.

So everyone wins!
