This Christmas can’t come soon enough for Columbus Short in more ways than one. Aside from loving the holiday and doing the Christmas-y activities like getting the big tree, visiting the fam and snowboarding, his movie of the same name is out on Nov. 21. He tells OK!, “I want This Christmas to be number one, and I will have everything I want.” With the star-studded cast including Chris Brown, Keith Robinson and Regina King, it seems this is an easy feat. Of his castmates, this Cali boy explains, “It was crazy and they were fantastic and took me in with open arms.”

Though Columbus still thinks he has to build up his resume, at just 25, he has an extensive list that even includes choreographing for Britney Spears’ In the Zone tour. “It was a good experience for a young 21-year-old who hadn’t trained.” As great as an accomplishment that was for a young dancer, it wasn’t enough. He continues, “I wasn’t happy because I wanted to be acting.”

Ever since he was a young kid, he knew he wanted his name to be in the big lights and with a name like Columbus, it was meant to be. (He even has the last four digits of his cell phone, 1492!) “My mom at first was like, ‘Oh he is just a young kid that wants to do this,’” he says. “I don’t know if it was that or she didn’t want me to be in business, but eventually she was like I’m not gonna be able to stop you so why don’t I manage you.”

After a quick realization that “Momagers are the worst,” Columbus hired a third party and “here we are.” He just filmed Whiteout with Kate Beckinsale and says, “Out of all the things that came out of filming, it was a great friend.”

Currently filming Quarantined with Jay Hernandez, he will then go onto film a movie with Channing Tatum. Because of the writers' strike, it is on hold, but don’t expect these two to have any dance-offs in the film. “No, no, we’re undercover cops,” he laughs. “It’s a cop movie like Bad Boys.”

For now, Columbus will have a nice break and spend Thanksgiving with his family in Arizona.

This Christmas is in theaters on Nov. 21.
