Lacey Chabert managed to keep her recent wedding super secret, tweeting the big news out to fans early this month after exchanging her "I Dos." OK! caught up with the actress (who has to be one of the nicest people in Hollywood) at Hallmark's winter press tour event in Pasadena, Calif. where she shared some high points from her big day and info on her upcoming Hallmark movie The Color of Rain (based on an emotional true story).

OK!: What was your wedding day like?

Lacey Chabert: It was beautiful! My whole family came out and I was really calm, surprisingly calm. I’m typically much more high-strung about throwing a party and this was certainly the biggest part we’ve ever thrown. I was trying to take it all in. I cried a lot. I laughed a lot. We danced a lot. It was a beautiful evening and I can’t wait to get the pictures and the videos because I just want to relive it.

OK!: What was one thing that was so special for you to have that day?

LC: Definitely having my dad walk me down the aisle. I would have been okay with eloping, I thought. But when I thought about that moment of having my dad hold my arm, my dad has been very ill, and the fact that he was able to be there and hold my arm while we walked down the aisle and hand me off to my husband was a very sweet moment I’ll never forget. The second the music started playing my dad broke down, so then of course I broke down. We were wiping each others' tears as we were walking. I’m his baby girl and no matter how old I am my dad will always be a big teddy bear to me.

OK!: You've worked with Hallmark a few times, what do you love about their projects

LC: First of all, I know it’s going to be a good experience because they’ve always been very kind to me, and I love that it’s going to be a movie my entire family can watch and enjoy, especially my grandmother. I like that their programming is about telling stories that are family-friendly but also interesting and funny and charming—stuff that people can relate to.

OK!: Your next Hallmark movie, The Color of Rain, is pretty intense emotionally, how do you shake that off at the end of the day?

LC: Playing a real person is actually a very different experience for me because they were on set, the Spehn family (whose life the movie is based on). We were able to speak with them and get to know them and I just wanted to make them proud and tell their story in the best possible. Gina (the woman Lacey portrays in the movie) texted me that she’s really happy with the film and proud of it. That means the world to me. The point of their story and the beauty of their story is the fact that through hope and faith they’re able to find love again and move on with their lives. That’s what inspired me about the story. I focused on that part.
