When it comes to etiquette, manners and overall good behavior, even celebrities need help navigating the rough waters of stardom! It’s a good thing Countess LuAnn de Lesseps of the Real Housewives of New York is joining forces with OK! to school them on the right thing to do! In a rough situation, we just ask, “What Would the Countess Do?” This week the Countess chats about staying cool as a reality star and celebs getting political.
The cast of Jersey Shore has obviously captured the attention of America. With spin-offs in the works (next up, Italy!), how can a reality show star leave off on a high note and not over do it?
Every reality show star is different, so the decision to leave a hit show for other opportunities depends on the star and the opportunity. I was thrilled to be offered a guest appearance on the hit television show Law & Order: SVU and jumped at the chance to work with Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni. I’m following my dream of working in show business and I still enjoy working with my co-stars on the Real Housewives of New York. Why not have the best of both worlds?
Tip: Why not take advantage of opportunities that are presented to you?
What do you think the best way for celebs to handle their political comments?
Celebrities are entitled to their political opinions and freedom of speech is one of the things that make our country great. However, making political statements can offend fans that don’t hold the same convictions but who love the celebrity’s work otherwise. I think that celebs should refrain from jumping on their soap-box while performing a concert or when at an awards show. There are plenty of media outlets where a celeb’s opinions can be expressed that don’t entail preaching to a captive audience.
Tip: Know when to share your opinions on hot topics so that you don’t diminish the enjoyment of others.
