Well I mamboed! I’m so happy with my performance last night! My goal was to kind of break out of the shell and show the judges something totally different than the foxtrot so hopefully I did that.
As you saw from the rehearsal footage, learning the mambo was not easy for me, to say the least! Definitely not my style! It’s been exhausting and it was going slowly at the beginning since I was very nervous about some of the movements and how I looked doing them! I was like, “This is going to be a lot of work!” But Mark didn’t give up.
It was hilarious when he put on the skirt for me! He looked good in it, didn’t he? Working the skirt was definitely the focus of the mambo. You saw him wearing it on TV. I was like, “Don’t let him work it better than me!” It was all about the skirt and showing off the material.
My costume was very different from last week — very leopard, Gwen Stefani-inspired, Roberto Cavalli material. Perfect mambo wear! It’s hard to put this on and see yourself standing there. You’ve got to work this outfit and do it justice!
I cannot believe we got a 27 again! I just feel really lucky. The judges are so nice and give me great words of encouragement. We’ll take it and hopefully apply it to the next dance. We have to take each dance as it comes.
Tonight is elimination night — double elimination night! I honestly don’t know what to expect. It’s scary! It’s a one in six chance of going home. I don’t want to really think about it!
Wish me luck!
See you soon!
