Giuliana Rancic dishes the latest celebrity gossip week after week on E! News, but the journalist recently found herself the one reported on when she debuted her slender frame during awards season and made controversial comments about Zendaya Coleman on Fashion Police. After Bill Rancic watched his wife come under fire and defend herself against the backlash, he is exclusively opening up to OKMagazine.com about the ordeal.

“The truth will set you free,” he told OKmagazine.com of the criticisms against his wife.

After being skinny shammed by viewers, Giuliana explained that the cause of her weight loss is from her cancer medication – she overcame breast cancer in 2011 – and from being diagnosed with scoliosis.

“We know the truth,” the RPM Steak and RPM Italian owner explained. “Obviously, people are going to say what they want to say. That’s their freedom, that’s why we live in America because we have free speech. It doesn’t bother me at all."

But freedom of speech (and poor editing!) failed Giuliana when she made comments about Zendaya smelling like "pachouli oil" and "weed" because of her dreadlocks during Fashion Police's Oscars special.

"It was completely edited out of context,” the Apprentice alum explained. “It was a joke regarding hippies. Some people took it a certain way and I think had they seen the unedited footage it would have changed the whole context of the joke."
