It’s no secret that Lady Gaga has a passion for performance art, and now she’s using her talent to help her friend, the renowned artist Marina Abramovic, raise money on Kickstarter so she can open her own institute.

OK! News: Gaga Releases Some Major News About Her Life

Gaga has released a brand new video featuring herself practicing the Abramovic method, which focuses on long durational work.

What does this type of art entail?

“A long durational work is any work (of performance art, dance, theater, film, music, opera, and others) whose performance exceeds six hours,” reads Abramovic’s Kickstarter site. “The performer’s use of time is a crucial element of this genre. By slowing down, lengthening, or repeating actions normally unexamined, a long durational work encourages both its performers and audience to step outside of traditional conceptions of time and examine what this experience means to them.”
