Oscar Pistorius Murder Trial: He Sobs So Hard the Judge Adjourns Court

Oscar Pistorius continued to testify in his trial today over the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. He became so emotional as he described the moments before the fatal gunshots that the judge actually adjourned the day's session.

Pistorius explained his typical process for securing his home before going asleep each night, which included locking the bedroom door, blocking it with a cricket bat, switching on the alarm system, and locking the windows. That night, he awoke to see the bathroom window open and screamed for Steenkamp to call the police. He then grabbed his gun and approached the bathroom door without putting on his prosthetic legs.

It wasn't until after firing the shots that he realized that he still hadn't found Steenkamp, and that it could be her inside the bathroom. He sobbed describing the moment that he found her body. Steenkamp's parents, who have stayed stoic in court until now, wept hearing these details. In discussing their relationship, Pistorius admitted, "I was more into her at times than she was with me... I was besotted with her."
