Beyond the controversy on last night's Golden Globe stage, there were some pretty heartfelt acceptance speeches. We decided we would take the attention away from the Ricky Gervais hosting uproar, and compile a roundup of our favorite moments from the star-studded evening. Christian Bale, Natalie Portman and Chris Colfer delivered some inspired and heartfelt words, as they took the stage to accept their golden statue! With a mix of humor and some touching messages, this trio of actors were our favorites of the night!

Christian, 36, was presented with one of the evening's first awards for his performance as the boxing coach Dickie Eklund in the David O. Russell-directed flick, The Fighter.

Christian delivered a sincere thank-you to his co-star, Mark Wahlberg praising his performance, which was nominated for Best Actor, but lost the title to Colin Firth.

The actor's speech was cut short, as he began to say something about Robert De Niro, who was sitting directly in front of the stage.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Christian told journalists backstage that he was just praising Robert for his legendary career.

"I just told him, he's the shit. You see an actor of that caliber and Robert Duvall. I don't know if he's here. Those guys are the shit. I just wanted to say I'm proud to be in the same room as him," Christian said.

As for Natalie, the 29-year-old pregnant beauty was on of the last awards of the evening, nabbing the Golden Globe for Best Actress for her role in Black Swan.

She gave a special shout out to her parents and fiancé/father of her unborn baby, Benjamin Millepied.

“Thank you to Benjamin who is helping me continue this creation of creating life,” Natalie said. “Benjamin choreographed the film, and you may remember him as the guy who, when they ask, ‘Would you sleep with that girl?’ and he’s like, ‘No.’ He’s the best actor, it’s not true, he totally wants to sleep with me!”

She also made sure to thank Mila “Sweet Lips” Kunis, in a reference to the hot make-out scene the ladies share in the Darren Aronofsky-directed film.

And perhaps one of the most heartfelt speeches of the evening was from Chris, who after thanking Glee creator Ryan Murphy and his castmates — while holding back tears — delivered a special anti-bullying theme message.

"Most importantly, to all the amazing kids that watch our show and the kids that our show celebrates that are constantly told no by bullies in their school and they can't be who they are ... Well, screw that, kids," Chris said, as he firmly held his Golden Globe in the air.,
