New mom Gretchen Mol slims down with Spanx

Gretchen Mol, 34, enjoys a mom’s night out from one-month-old Ptolemy John Williams during the Project A.L.S. Tenth Anniversary celebration held at NYC’s Waldorf-Astoria.

What’s her secret to shedding the baby weight? Gretchen says she is wearing Spanx shapewear. “I’ve been trying to go to yoga, but I didn’t gain tons of weight to begin with, so it made it a little bit easier,” she tells me. “You forget to eat because you’re so busy feeding your little creature.”

What surprises her about first-time motherhood? “You really never know what tired means until you have a child. Love gets you through the whole thing.”

Ptolemy’s dad is her hubby of three years, director/producer Tod Williams, 39.
