As any first-time parent would be, Scott Baio was reduced to tears when he saw his newborn daughter for the first time.

"I broke down and started crying on my knees," he tells MomLogic in a video interview with his wife, Renee Sloan.

So emotional he was over the birth of Bailey DeLuca, who arrived Nov. 2, that Renee thought he was passing out from the excitement and called a doctor for him.

"She was saying, 'He's fainting, he's fainting!'" he recalls. "And I said, 'I'm okay, I'm okay.' I was just sobbing like a baby."

Now two months into parenthood, Scott says Renee's the star parent of the household, although the model, who has a daughter, Kalyn, 18, from a previous relationship, demures such praise.

"She's being way too modest. She's on the kid — crying, on it. Bottle, on it. Diaper, on it," he says. "It's probably as close to what my mom was like."

Speaking of his mom, actress Rose DeLuca, the 46-year-old actor claims his mother often defied his father's requests when it came to parenting and he expects the same to happen with Renee — not that he minds.

"I know that sometimes I say something to Renee and I'm sure she does whatever she wants anyway and that's probably a good thing because I'm an annoying SOB."
