BREAKING NEWS: THOUSANDS OF TOM AND KATIE'S WEDDING PHOTOS STOLEN

Tom Cruise is 'pleased' that an alleged plot to extort $1 million for the return of photographs taken at his November wedding to Katie Holmes is over, his attorney tells OK! Bert Fields says Tom's representatives were first contacted by self-described 'sultan of sleaze' David Hans Schmidt, 46, 'several weeks ago' in a bid to sell 'thousands of photographs.' Hans Schmidt, 46, from Arizona, was arrested by authorities and is now in custody after a joint operation by the FBI and the U.S Attorney's Office. Tom, 45, and Katie, 28, married inside a castle with their celebrity friends in in the Italian town of Bracciano on November 18, 2006. 'He was not pleased to be subjected to this,' Fields tells OK! 'He's pleased the matter is in the hands of the FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office. Fields explains 'We were approached a few weeks ago by Mr. Schmidt. 'He had for sale a huge quantity of photos from Mr. Cruise's wedding in Italy. 'It was clear that they belonged to Mr Cruise and they were stolen photos. 'Mr. Cruise owns the copyright of those photographs and they're his property. 'When someone offered to sell him those photos that he already owned his representatives contacted the FBI who in turn brought in the U.S Attorney's office.' Adds Fields 'Tom Cruise is in Germany making a film called Valkyrie?but he's been keeping involved in the process.
