Shailene Woodley is running Hollywood right now. She's on the cover of Entertainment Weekly this week, promoting her movie Divergent as "the next Hunger Games," and it doesn't even come out for another nine months. She was also cast in another huge book adaptation, The Fault in Our Stars, and is currently filming The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Or at least, she was until today. The studio behind the Spider-Man confirmed that her scenes have been cut from the film, and that this film will focus more on Emma Stone's character, Gwen Stacy.

This is super weird on many levels. Are you ready for a few of them?

One, Shailene plays the second most important character in the whole franchise (second only to Spider-Man, of course). Mary Jane Watson is his great love. Even if she only had a few scenes, they would be significant, right?

Two, Emma Stone's character Gwen Stacy was probably going to be killed in this movie. Now what? "I made a creative decision to streamline the story and focus on Peter and Gwen and their relationship," said director Marc Webb. But...

Three, they've been filming this movie for four months. They just decide to change the entire plot of the film?

Four, this is coming off news that Sony has ordered two more sequels, for 2016 and 2018. When will we meet Mary Jane, and will they recast Shailene?

Five, who can forget that deleted Emma Stone tweet, an anagram for "Andrew and Shailene sitting in a tree?"? Emma has explained that she never tweets and that her verified account was hacked, which we actually buy because Emma is such a lovely, classy gal and coded tweets about boy drama are definitely not her bag.

Six, again, they've been filming this enormously expensive movie for four months. They even filmed Gwen Stacy's death scene (probably!). Imagine calling your boss and saying, "Oh, I changed my mind. Can I have another $150 million?"

Are you disappointed that Shailene was cut from the movie? Are you excited that there will be more Emma in the movie? Tell us in the comments below or tweet us @OKMagazine.
