You've heard of juicing. At this point in time, we can confidently state that we've all at least acknowledged the mention of drinking up the nutrients from fruits and veggies. And if you follow pop culture and celebs' diet tips, let alone their hot bods, you know a ton of them are hooked on the trend, including actress Debra Messing.

The star, who considers herself a newbie to the juicing movement, shared one of her favorite green drinks in The Juice Generation, a new book by the founder of The Juice Generation hotspot in New York City, Eric Helms. The book breaks down the basics of the nutrition act, the supplies, produce you'll need at the grocery store, and the positive side effects you'll experience if you keep it up.

The forward, written by Salma Hayek, a role model of health and beauty, is basically a testament to the "juicing glow" and how drinking your veggies creates an easy path to consuming the vegetables we tend to ignore. You can purchase the book when it is out on January 14th. In the meantime, preview one of the work's celebrity contributed recipes. In The Juice Generation, Debra writes, "I am relatively new to juicing and I can honestly say the difference I feel is HUGE. Every morning on set I have my "green" drink, which is spinach, kale, cucumber, lemon, celery, and green apple. Sometimes I'll add beets, and if I am under the weather I'll add ginger."

Sounds tasty, right? Check out Debra's Green Elixir recipe below and make sure to be on the look out for then The Juice Generation hits shelves.
