Do those authors' names sound familiar? They might—the gals wrote the best-selling book turned Scarlett Johansson movie, The Nanny Diaries. They've written a ton of fun books together since then, but we're really excited about The First Affair. It's the story of a White House intern who has an affair with the president. Yes, it's very similar to the Monica Lewinsky story, but it feels brand new (and titillating) given the popularity of Scandal and its own fictional presidential affair.

Yes, a big part of the draw for this book is the juiciness of it all, and it definitely delivers in that regard. It's interesting just grasping the logistics of such a situation—how does the President get the chance to pee by himself, let alone find the privacy to sleep with a recent college grad?

Of course, you know the entire time that it's going to blow up in their faces, and that's part of the fun. It's really interesting to hear the selfish inner monologue of a girl who is okay with ruining a marriage and a presidency. Should you like her? Do you understand her? Is this how all of those mistresses of politicians have felt? It's weird to sympathize with, say, Sydney Leathers.

Do you think you'll give this book a try? What's the best book you've read recently? What's your favorite type of book to read? Tell us in the comments below or tweet us @OKMagazine.
