That '70s Show actor Danny Masterson has appeared in court three months after being charged with the sexual assault of three women.

Masterson was first accused of the sexual assault three years ago when the victims approached the LAPD's sexual assault division, which subsequently led to an investigation and Masterson's arrest.

At his appearance it was expected that Masterson would enter a plea, but the arraignment was rescheduled for October.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey tweeted: "Arraignment for actor charged with raping three women continued to 10/19 in Foltz Criminal Justice Center."

In July, Lacey announced that Masterson had officially been charged with "forcibly raping three women in separate incidents occurring between 2001 and 2003." The District Attorney's Office investigated two additional claims but declined to file sexual assault charges as one case had insufficient evidence, while the other fell within the statute of limitations.

The actor's lawyer Tom Mesereau denied the claims.

"Mr. Masterson is innocent, and we're confident that he will be exonerated when all the evidence finally comes to light and witnesses have the opportunity to testify," he said at the time.

In a separate statement, Mesereau revealed that the actor and his model wife, Bijou Phillips, were taken aback by the allegations.

"Obviously, Mr. Masterson and his wife are in complete shock considering that these nearly 20-year old allegations are suddenly resulting in charges being filed, but they and their family are comforted knowing that ultimately the truth will come out. The people who know Mr. Masterson know his character and know the allegations to be false," Mesereau said.

According to court papers, Masterson allegedly raped a 23-year-old woman in 2001, a 28-year-old woman in 2003, and later that same year, another 23-year-old woman who he had invited to his Hollywood Hills home.

Masterson could face a possible maximum sentence of 45 years to life in state prison if convicted on the charges.
