After his Twitter rant F-bombing MTV's annual Video Music Awards, Adam Levine has continued his tirade, developed his thoughts further on why he doesn't want any part of the network's award show.

"It's public knowledge that it's not a music channel," the Maroon 5 frontman told E! Online of his firm stance against the VMAs. "It's become a huge promotional opportunity for artists, which is a good thing. I think that great artists were there and they were represented and there could have been more."

OK! NEWS: ADAM LEVINE TWEETS WAR OF WORDS WITH MTV

Adam didn't always have such a strong position against the network, explaining as a kid he was a huge fan of the VMAs.

"I remember when I was a kid I worshiped the VMAs," he shared. "I'd see these incredible moments where the whole world sat still to watch the VMAs and year round they'd play music — Nirvana, Pearl Jam, bands I loved. "

He added, "It was a celebratory day that represented what the channel stood for."

Is Adam bitter that his band wasn't nominated?

"I don't even know if we were invited," he told E!. "I know we weren't invited to perform. People thought it's because we weren't nominated, that has nothing to do with it. We haven't been nominated in years and that's fine."

On Saturday Adam Tweeted, ”the VMA’s. one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I’m drawing a line in the sand. f*ck you VMA’s.” He added, “still waiting to have my ‘jerry macguire mission statement moment of deep regret…’ not happening. phew!”

Despite Adam's views, a record-breaking 12.4 million viewers tuned in to watch the VMAs.
