Even though a weakened Dennis Hopper is battling advanced prostate cancer, the 73-year-old actor plans to attend the ceremony dedicating his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today, CNN reports.
Dennis, who is also in the process of divorcing his wife of 14 years, Victoria Hopper, has said in court documents that he is too weak and ill, at about 100 pounds, to be questioned in his divorce. He's undergoing radical chemotherapy for his cancer, according to CNN, but attending his star ceremony "is a positive experience in every way," according to his doctor's sworn statement.

His publicist has confirmed that Dennis will be in front of the Egyptian Theater on Hollywood Boulevard when his star is unveiled, and his doctor supports the appearance.
"I believe the ceremony honoring his career may be something which he will actually enjoy in the company of his daughter, who he hopes will attend with him," Dr. David Argus said.
Dennis' rise to stardom began in the 1950s, when he starred with James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause and Giant. He became a household name with his role in Easy Rider in 1969 and has been nominated for two Oscars.
