The first elimination week for the Top 13 on American Idol had the 7 guys pitted against 6 girls. But this week was very different. The bottom vote getter from each side would be announced and then the judges would decide who goes.

After one of Idol's typical cheesy group numbers that did include Phillip Phillips even though he had to go to the hospital earlier in the day, Ryan Seacrest got down to business.

OK! NEWS: AMERICAN IDOL RECAP: TO 13 PERFORM AND JESSICA SANCHEZ, SKYLAR LAINE AND HOLLIE CAVANAGH SHINE

It was announced that Phillip, Deandre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, Heejun Han, Skylar Laine and Jessica Sanchez were all safe. Were any of these names surprising? Not at all. Looks like we know who are 6 front-runners are right now.

Unfortunately for the rest, they were not so safe. Elise Testone, Erika Van Pelt, Shannon Magrane, Jermaine Jones, Joshua Ledet and Jeremy Rosado were all in the bottom three of the respective groups. It seems like this year it isn't very good luck to be a guy with a "J" name.

Luckily for them, Joshua, Jermaine, Shannon and Erika were all sent back to safety. That left it down to Jeremy and Elise as the bottom vote-getters. Not surprising since Jeremy was kind of boring and Elise didn't sound good at all.

And even though Jennifer Lopez saved him last week, Jeremy was not so lucky this time. Elise was saved and Jeremy was sent home to the sounds of this year's boot song by last year's winner Scotty McCreery, a cover of Tim McGraw's "Please Remember Me."

Bye, Jeremy. Now we are down to our Top 12. Find out what they sing next on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
