Andy Cohen’s ditching his partying lifestyle to dive head-first into fatherhood.
On his podcast, Straight Shuter: Naughty But Nice, Rob Shuter reveals the Bravo host’s new routine, saying that his son is forcing him to make major life changes, including changing his crazy work schedule to spend more time at home.
“With the arrival of his son, Andy cannot continue working at the current pace that he has become accustomed to. He has his own nightly talk show, a radio station, production company to oversee, book deal, a speaking tour with Anderson Cooper, and all the franchises of The Real Housewives. Something has to give,” a source told Shuter.
RadarOnline.com readers know that while Cohen, 51, called it quits with longtime boyfriend Clifton Dassuncao in March 2018, he made the decision to have a child via surrogate. His son, Benjamin Allen Cohen, was born on February 5, 2019, and the star has since shared various adorable snaps of their life together.
“My first Father’s Day! Happy Dad’s Day, everybody. I want to thank my surrogate in California, without whom I wouldn’t have Ben,” he captioned a sweet Instagram photo of his baby boy this June.
“His son has become his number one priority. Staffers have also noticed him being less involved with the off-screen drama of all those needy Real Housewives reality stars. And finally, despite selling out live shows around the U.S.A., Andy’s tour dates with Anderson will be less heavy,” added the insider. “Basically, Andy is juggling and making everything work for the moment. Although, he has been talking about having baby number two — then who knows how he will do everything.”
The news comes after Radar reported Cohen keeps the Housewives at “arm’s length” despite them wanting to be his best friends.
“The rule is that Andy plays with the cast members of his show when he wants to, and not the other way around. Like most people he has his work pals, and his real friends (SJP, Anderson and Kelly) and the two groups do not mix,” an insider told Shuter this February.
