Another Injury Sidelines Actress on Broadway's 'Spider-Man'

Another day, another injury or so it seems. Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark on Broadway suffered another setback last week when it sidelined actress T.V. Carpio for two weeks after experiencing an injury on stage.

Although specifics regarding the injury itself weren't revealed, production spokesman Rick Miramontez issued a statement (via E! Online): "T.V. Carpio sustained an injury on Wednesday, March 16, during an onstage battle scene with a fellow actor." He added, "On doctor's orders, she will be out of the show for the next two weeks. America Olivo will be performing the role of ‘Arachne' during this time."

T.V. is actually the replacement for Natalie Mendoza, the original Arachne. Natalie got a concussion in late November after she was hit offstage by a heavy piece of rope that was loose.

The injury marks a continued string of mishaps on the show ranging from ousting director Julie Taymor and replacing her with a new creative team, the suspension of preview performances from April 19 through May 11 and even more injuries and delays. Opening night is now scheduled for June 14.
