AT&T must have heard the message about the recent study that showed companies that sponsor Tiger Woods could lose up to $12  billion. The communication giants announced Thursday that they are pulling the plug on their partnership with Tiger.

"We are ending our sponsorship agreement with Tiger Woods and wish him well in the future, " AT&T spokesman, Fletcher Cook said in an e-mailed statement, CNN Money reports.

In February, Tiger had signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with AT&T, but the terms were not disclosed.

AT&T is now the second major sponsor of Tiger's to end its business relationship with him— the first being Accenture — since the car crash on Nov. 27 brought his infidelities to light.

Procter & Gamble's Gillette said it will keep Tiger as a sponsor but would temporarily stop airing commercials that feature the golfer.
